Wendy is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with 25+ years of experience treating individuals ages 5–91. She specializes in anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood and psychotic disorders, autism, and developmental disabilities, providing compassionate, evidence-based care for clients and their families.
Wendy is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and has treated individuals across the lifespan (ages 5-91). With over 25 years of behavioral health experience, she supports, educates and cares for clients and their family members from their initial/first appointment to the end of treatment. She has a long history of treating individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, autism and other developmental disabilities. She started her nursing career in critical care, over 5 years, giving her the education and experience to interpret complicated medical issues that may contribute to an individual’s mental health.
Wendy completed her bachelor’s in nursing at the University of Rochester in May of 2000. She worked several years as a registered nurse in many fields of nursing, working full time inpatient mental health and many different part-time contracts including, school nurse, camp nurse, geriatrics, corrections, critical care, OPWDD and surgery. She went back to graduate school in 2012 and graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Doctorate in psychiatric nursing, May 2015. She received the McNair Research Scholarship at the University of Rochester years 2000 & 2001, studying the physical and behavioral effects of gluten, casein free diets on children diagnosed with autism. She understands the barriers, stigma and struggles individuals and their families face when dealing with mental illness and/or behavioral concerns. She utilizes evidence-based treatments with her patients and provides a caring and empathetic approach.
